DeGolyer Elementary Uniform Guidelines

All students are required to wear uniforms on campus unless otherwise notified of a special dress day or occasion. Please review the guidelines below to ensure your Dolphin is following the established guidelines. Also, please be sure to put a name in every piece of clothing that your Dolphin wears to school (especially outerwear)!

In addition to the uniform requirements, beginning with the 2023-2024 school year all students must carry a clear backpack in accordance with DISD policy.

Tops

• Style: collared shirt or blouse, long or short sleeves
  • tank tops, muscle shirts and shirts with spaghetti straps may not be worn to school
• Colors: teal, gray, or navy preferred; white also allowed

Bottoms

• Style: shorts, pants, skirts, collared dresses or jumpers
• Length: no more than 3" above the knee
• Colors: navy, khaki, or black
• Other notes: 
• no "cargo" shorts
• solid color tights or leggings (uniform colors of teal, navy and gray preferred) may be worn under dresses, skirts and jumpers but may NOT replace uniform pants; no patterned tights or leggings
• in warmer weather, shorts should be worn under skirts or dresses

Shoes

• Style: must be closed-toe, closed-back shoes
• Color: any color shoes are allowed
• Other notes:
  • socks or tights must be worn with all shoes
  • shoes with laces must be fully laced and tied

Jackets, Sweatshirts & Sweaters

• Style: uniform polo collars must be visible under any item worn over a uniform top inside the building
• Color: solid teal, navy or gray

College Shirts & Spirit Shirts

• Students may wear a college shirt of their choice on Wednesdays with jeans or uniform bottoms.
• Students may wear a DeGolyer Elementary spirit shirt (any year or design) on Fridays with jeans or uniform bottoms.
